No Longer A Pampered Camper

Overall, it was a successful weekend at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. That's where we went with the kids and a few friends for a few days of hiking, fishing, canoeing and swimming. We got more than we bargained for, though, on Friday when heavy rain and a tornado warning came our way. We had to spend about an hour in the men's shower as there was only one storm shelter at the campground. After that, because it was raining so hard, we ran to the van and watched a movie. Finally, even though it was still pouring, we made it to the tent for a snooze. It was a bit damp but we made it through the night.

The next day was beautiful and that's when the real camping began. We hiked, swam, fished, enjoyed the kids and sat around the fire. What is it about sitting around a fire in the dark. I love it.

Anyway, if you're looking, Turkey Run is a great state park! There's lots to do for everyone. We're definitely going back.

Hey Nancy - I just wanted to say I am sorry I didn't leave work in the pouring rain on Tuesday for body attack. Sorry - I can come back to work not looking so hot but I did not want have to wear wet clothes too! Anyway the upside is... I found your blog!!! I was searching your site for Cheap Trick information and eating a salad instead of working out with you! See Ya Friday!!! Jill
